Blog Entry 1

My first day of observations and being in the classroom was great! I was able to see how a regular day goes for a 1st grade class. Right off the bat I could see that there were definatley some kids that were struggling! I was able to help with math and art. In math, we learned about less than or greater than. The way the teacher taught it made the children want to learn more about it! They all had fun with it! I was able to see that if the teacher gets excited about it, then the students will too!

The teacher I was with was always on her feet helping her students. She was so prepared and on top of things! It was really cool to see how she interacted with her students, me, and other teachers.

To relate to the 3 different ways of learning, I was able to see in this specific classroom 2 different ways. Most of the students (from what I could tell) were Visual learners. They saw how their teacher did it and then they could do it. Some, however, were kinesthetic learners and had to have me or the teacher physically help them! No way was better than the other but it was great to relate that to all of the students.
It was great!
