At first I thought the most important role as a teacher would be to manage the classroom and deal with the kids. As I have done my fieldwork and observations, I have noticed it is managing the classroom but it is also managing everything else. Teachers have a lot to deal with! Not only the students, teaching, and grading; they also have their personal home lives, the secretaries needing things, other teachers needing testing to be done, students going in and out of the classroom to various places! It was extremely overwhelming! How do they do it ALL!?? I loved watching what all these teachers do on a daily basis. It was a real eye opener on what a teacher is and what they actually do.
Therefore, I think the most challenging thing for a teacher to deal with is balancing everything. The teacher I was observing was telling me how much grading, lesson planning, and other school-related work she was having to do at home. Yet, at the end of the day, she loves the students and everything that comes along with it!

Blog Entry 4
Days before taking a test or assesment, the teacher will go over what they will be tested on for at least 5 minutes. She will ask them to repeat what they need to know so that they can go home and study what they recited. The day of the test, the teacher will review really short and fast of what they have learned. I asked why she did that and she responded, "Because it refreshes their memory and releases positive hormones in their brains to help remember what they know." I think it is great to be able to hurry and review. It really helps the students.
However, I have seen students with ADHD among other things in the classroom where the student cannot finish any assignment. One teacher literally moved the students desk and put it right next to hers so that she could be there to read the problems to her if necessary, and also to make sure he's getting things done.
